A Game of Order and Chaos

About Me

I'm partial to a gin and tonic

and I have a Bachelor of Visual Arts from the Government College of Arts & Crafts, Kolkata

Susmit lives and works in Kolkata, India. He draws inspiration from many sources. Among these are the abandon of improvisation in music, the sensual and energetic charge of colour, the dialogue between stillness and movement.

His practice includes painting, digital images, virtual reality and videos. He has always enjoyed using technology to blur the lines between what you can and can’t do by hand. There is no use of ai- his processes remain deeply rooted in intuition, imagination and improvisation.

His art has been showcased in many solo and group exhibitions. He has also had collaborative performances with musicians. His pieces have been shown at Akar Prakar (Kolkata), the Jehangir Art Gallery (Mumbai), the Portret Project (Delhi) and Gallery Manora (Bangalore) to name just a few venues.
